We put a lot of time and effort into researching, recording, and editing “Scandal Sheets”. We sacrifice free time, over time, and time with our friends and family. All costs come out of our pockets: recording equipment, hosting fees, websites, advertising. We’re not even close to reimbursing the time we spend (sometimes in excess of 10 hours per week). It takes a lot and unlike some of podcasters, we do this for the pure enjoyment, and have never anticipated being able to replace our day jobs (which we love).
But if you could help support us in the form of a monetary donation, we would be super appreciative. In order to bring our listeners more consistent sounding episodes, released on a regular schedule, we hope to retain a professional editing service with donations from our supporters. This will make a huge difference in our operations. We’re pretty transparent here, so hiring a decent editor will cost $50/episode. That’s $1200 a year for 24 episodes.
You can make recurring monthly donations via Patreon or one-time donations via Paypal. Make a donation of at least $5 and you’ll get a shout-out on an upcoming episode. Make a donation of $10 or more, and you’ll receive some super cool Scandal Sheets swag as a thank you and a shout out on an upcoming episode.
If you can’t afford to donate, we understand. You will notice that we take commercial breaks now. This has become an industry standard and allows us to make a little (and we mean, little) change for every ad that gets played. So listening to those ads can make a big difference to us. You can also support us by leaving a review (preferably a 5-star one) on your podcatcher of choice. Getting reviews helps people find Scandal Sheets, which means more downloads…you get the picture. Also, share, share, SHARE! A big thank to all the folks on Instagram who mention us in their posts.
If you are a frequent listener, you will know that both Caroline and Adrienne are involved in cat rescue. While constructing a building in the backyard to house abandoned kitties is a very long-term goal, we do support Saving Southern Kitties, a non-profit based out of Charlotte, NC committed to re-homing at-risk cats and kittens; and Pet Helpers, a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter located in Charleston, SC.
Thanks for your support. We couldn’t do this without you!
